LIVE | NASA spacecraft Dart to crash into asteroid

History is made. On Monday, September 26th Nasa completed a historic mission. 

Nasa is crashing a spacecraft into an asteroid. According to Asteroid, Live!, 

Nasa is testing planetary defense. The goal is to determine if crashing the spacecraft into the 

asteroid would change the asteroid's trajectory should an asteroid threaten the earth. 

The Nasa test mirrors theories proposed in the movie Armageddon. The approaches include the theory of 

crashing spacecraft into an asteroid to change its trajectory. While, the movie Armageddon showed 

a fictitious team of oil riggers turned into astronauts, drilling on an asteroid, the reality of Nasa's mission includes the impact of successful planetary defense.
