Trey Parker and Matt Stone are inspired by a man eater named Alferd Packer. Yuck! According to Google News, Packer took a six person party to the mountains around 1873. They were searching for gold. The gold hunters were found partially eaten with ax severed skulls after Packer came back from the mountains alone. Packer's story of what happened changed three times. Packer is now known as the "cannibal who gnawed on choice cuts of his fellow men."
