"The Curse of Oak Island" star Dan Blankenship died at 95-years-old Sunday, March 17. According to Fox News, the cause of death is unclear. The Friends of Oak Island announced Blankenship's death on Facebook on Monday. Blankenship spent 50 years trying to solve the Oak Island mystery. Blankenship began to look for the Oak Island treasure in 1965 after he saw a "Reader's Digest" article. Dan relocated from Florida to Nova Scotia, Canada in 1970 to search for the treasure. In 2014, the History Channel began production on the reality tv show "The Curse of Oak Island," which features Dan Blankenship.
