New Mexico offers the largest COVID-19 vaccination incentive in America. According to the Associated Press, the state offers a $5 million prize and separate $250,000 prizes. There are also incentives like scratch tickets. You must register at Vaxtothemaxnm.org to be eligible. The website to register is separate from New Mexico's vaccine scheduling website. Winners are expected to show their vaccine cards. Good luck New Mexico residents!

Walmart, Costco, Target, and Trader Joe's don't require face masks

Boo! According to the Wall Street Journal, Walmart, Costco, and Trader Joe's won't require masks for vaccinated people. Vaccinated employees and customers no longer need a face mask. Walmart's policy for employees will go into effect on May 18th. Vaccinated customers may go without masks now. Costco implemented a similar policy. According to the Daily Mail, Target no longer requires face masks unless local policy says otherwise. Kroger continues to require facemasks. According to NBC, Target will continue to require face masks as well.

There is good news in the battle against COVID-19, especially for parents. The FDA plans to authorize the Pfizer vaccine for 12-15-year-olds by early next week. According to the New York Times, the authorization would open the U.S. vaccination campaign to millions of more people. The Pfizer trial in adolescents showed the vaccine is effective in that age group. Many parents are eager to see their kids vaccinated before summer activities and the start of school in the fall.

According to the Global Citizen website, Vax Live is a concert requesting world leaders make sure vaccines are accessible to all. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are the campaign chairs. The event will be hosted by Selena Gomez. There will be performances by Jennifer Lopez, Eddie Vedder, Foo Fighters, J Balvin, and H.E.R. Several stars are scheduled to make appearances, including Ben Affleck and Jimmy Kimmel. The Vax Live concert will be on at 8/7 central on select channels.
