The original movie garnered praise from celebrities. Kim Kardashian tweeted she liked the film.For Halloween Kim wore a Mermaid costume. The film features how a city in Israel is offering a million dollar reward for conclusive mermaid video. The mayor of Kiryat Yam, Israel offered a million dollar reward for conclusive mermaid evidence.  Footage surfaced. The mayor responded to the footage in an interview. He said I don't know do you think the footage is conclusive? The mermaid reward could be an attempt to increase tourism.
