Famous, accomplished, and talented singer John Legend was rejected from the TV show Star Search as a child. The Fairfield Commons mall outside of Dayton, Ohio had a local competition. According to the Tonight Show, Legend won the local competition at the mall. His videotape was sent to Star Search but Legend never received a callback. However, he did receive a $500 shopping spree.  Luckily, Legend didn't give up after facing rejection. He persevered. Legend is now an Emmy Grammy, Oscar, and Tony winner. https://youtu.be/279RNoP5UyU
