Teen who filmed George Floyd's murder is awarded an honorary pulitzer

The teen who filmed George Floyd's murder on her cellphone is awarded an honorary Pulitzer. 

The teen filmed Derek Chauvin kneel on George Floyd's neck in 2020. According to the New York Times, even if Derek Chauvin knelt on Floyd's shoulder, experts at Derek Chauvin's trial agree to kneel on the neck, or the shoulder could be lethal. 

According to ABC,  Darnella Frazier won the honorary Pulitzer as a citizen journalist. Citizen journalists are members of the public who analyze and share information online. 

Frazier's video helped spark Black Lives Matter protests. 

According to NPR, Darnella Frazier won the award on Friday, June 11th.
