Law and Order: Special Victims Unit star Mariska Hargitay took to social media recently to raise awareness for Sexual Assault and Prevention Awareness Month. The star shared a video of a building that was lit up in blue lights. The actress captioned the video, “So proud to shine this light. May it illuminate the path to change. #SAAM” Below are screenshots of the video. According to NBC, Mariska recently shared her own story about being a sexual assault victim. I’ve suspected for years Mariska is a sexual assault victim but I didn’t comment about it. I’m happy to find out she’s broken her silence and told her story. According to nsvrc.org, SAAM brings awareness to how common sexual violence is and how it affects people in the community.
