Britney Spears addresses her break from singing in an Instagram post. Spears shared the post on Friday, September 27. 

Spears wrote, "I hope ya'll haven't forgotten about me!!! I'm taking this transition in my life to focus on what I really want...I've been working non-stop, well since I was 8 years old in the business. Sometimes its good to stop and reflect!!!! Miss you all...I really do have the best fans in the world.!!!" 

According to the Daily Mail, at the beginning of 2019, Spears put her Las Vegas residency on hold because of her dad's health problems.
