Julia Louis-Dreyfus announces she has breast cancer on Instagram on Thursday, September
28.
The actress writes: "1 in 8 women get breast cancer. Today, I'm the one. The good news is that I have the most glorious group of supportive and caring family and friends, and fantastic insurance through the union. The bad news is not all women are as lucky, so let's fight all cancers and make universal health care a reality."
According to US Weekly, Louis-Dreyfus was diagnosed on September 18 one day after winning the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for "Veep."
The magazine reports the former "Seinfeld" actress' representative said, "Julia is incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support and well wishes."
