Johnny Depp apologizes for his Trump assassination joke

Johnny Depp apologizes for his joke about assassinating President Trump. Depp says he didn't mean any harm by the comment.

Johnny made the remark Thursday at the Glastonbury Festival. According to TMZ, the "Pirates of the Carribean" actor released a statement saying it was a "bad joke."  "It did not come out as intended, and I intended no malice. I was only trying to amuse, not to harm anyone," his statement read.

At the festival, Depp quipped, "When was the last time an actor assassinated a President?"
The remark referred to John Wilkes Booth assassination of Abraham Lincoln in 1865.

President Trump condemned all violence. A statement read, "I hope that some of Mr. Depp's colleagues will speak out against this type of rhetoric as strongly as they would if his comments were directed to a Democrat elected official."
