Viola Davis: April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month

April is sexual assault awareness month...1 out of 4 girls and 1 out of 6 boys are sexually assaulted by the time they reach 18. Many of these are under the age of 12. Many....don't survive. The devastation it causes to the survivors, families are beyond comprehension. Depression, suicide, body dysmorphic issues, rage issues, drug addiction....It is an epidemic. Here is my wish, my plea: The responsibility is not just on some of us but ALL of us to stay vigilant, aware, sensitive. Predators are EVERYWHERE....and bringing them to justice is a fight. Encourage victims that it is NOT an UNspeakable crime! Speak up! Speak out! Stay AWAKE! To the survivors and overcomers of sexual assault, I will continue to believe you and HONOR you.
