ABC casts the first black bachelorette, Rachel Lindsay for season 13. Series creator, Mike Fleiss, tweets, "very happy about the overwhelming support for our new The Bachelorette!!!" A source confirmed the news to US Weekly.
According to the magazine, the Dallas attorney is the first black lead. Fleiss tweets about a "history-making announcement" on "Jimmy Kimmel Live's" Monday, Feb. 13 episode. Rachel Lindsay appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and was revealed to be the new Bachelorette. "The Bachelorette" host Chris Harrison said the show would be "lucky" to have Lindsay.
