There could be meaning beyond the talk show host's antics. DeGeneres invited a pizza delivery boy to hand out pizza to the stars. This could be a possible move to honor people who serve food. This stunt and the star studded selfie became the talk of the Oscars. The word selfie made it into the dictionary.
