Country Singer Craig Strickland Discovered Dead
29-year-old country singer Craig Strickland was discovered dead Monday Jan. 4, 2016. He was found a week after he went missing. Strickland played in the band Backroad Anthem.
According to US Weekly, his body was recovered Monday morning after a massive search in the Kaw Lake area north of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Strickland's body was discovered in the original search area of Bear Creek Cove.
Strickland was reported missing Monday Dec. 28, 2015 after he and his friend Chase Morland left for a hunting trip. They were on a duck hunting trip through winter storm Goliath.
Authorities launched a search on Sunday Dec. 27 after the friends' capsized boat was discovered. Morland's body was found the next day in Kaw Lake. Strickland's wife Helen revealed her husband's 9-year-old dog would not leave Morland's side until officials claimed the body.
