Heard Charged with Illegally Bringing Dogs to Australia
Johnny Depp's wife, actress Amber Heard is charged with illegally bringing their dogs to Australia.
The couple brought their Yorkshire Terriers on Depp's private jet. According to the AP, the famous couple were jet setting to Australia for Depp's filming of Pirates of the Caribbean.
The maximum penalty for the charges is 10 years in prison and a fine of $102,000 Australian dollars.
The couple was warned in the past not to travel to the country with the dogs. According to Gawker,
Authorities found out Depp and Heard has smuggled the Yorkshire Terriers into the country back in May. The dogs had not been quarantined. Then the government gave them the option of taking the Yorkshire Terriers out of the country or watching them die.
