Caitlyn Jenner Honored at ESPYs

Former Olympian Caitlyn Jenner receives the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPYs in Los Angeles on July 15, 2015. Jenner called for acceptance during her speech.

She said there is a simple idea  "accepting people for who they are." "If you want to make jokes and doubt my intentions go ahead because the reality is I can take it, but for the thousands of kids out there coming to terms with being true to who they are, they shouldn't have to take it," Jenner said.

According to ABC, Jenner triumphed at the Olympics in 1976. He took home a gold medal in the decathlon.

Diane Sawyer chronicled Jenner's gender transition in an in depth interview for ABC.
