Kerry Washington creates her own real-life 'scandal'. Washington secretly married. The star married NFL player Nnamdi Asomugha last week. Her husband is a San Francisco 49ers Cornerback. Washington is the star of the hit show Scandal.

The Associated Press reports their nuptials were hidden until their marriage certificate surfaced online. US Magazine reports they were married June 24th.

Washington portrays PR guru Olivia Pope. Her character is based on a real life fixer for some of the nation's worst scandals.

There are reports the couple have been dating since summer 2012.
