Customers Hoard Twinkies and other Hostess Products. People stopping by a Dallas Hostess Bakery were no exception. They were making history. Hostess Products may no longer be on shop shelves.

33 Hostess Factories are closing nation wide. Hostess is laying off about 19,000 workers. Hostess Spokesperson, Lance Ignon said, "unfortunately it started as a reorganization and moved to a liquidation." The company couldn't get enough workers to return after a strike. An on-going labor dispute and bankruptcy forced them to sell the company.

Unions don't agree they said the company was mismanaged. Hostess Employee Mark Friesen said, "we're standing up fighting for our pension and for everyone who has a pension."

A brand analyst said Twinkies and other Hostess products may return to shelves as soon as next year. The brand is an American icon.
