The High Note is a movie about a struggling assistant and singer Grace Davis. According to the trailers, Dakota Johnson plays the assistant Maggie while Tracee Ellis Ross plays diva Grace Davis. Johnson's character is interested in producing music for Grace while Ice Cube portrays Jack Robertson, a music industry professional, who appears to be opposed to the idea of Maggie producing. According to IMDB, Grace must make a choice that could change their careers.
