Jason Krupat finds a real-life buried treasure in Boston and takes "Expedition Unknown" host Josh Gates along for the journey.
According to "Expedition Unknown," puzzle and game designer, Jason Krupat, has looked for a treasure that has been buried for 40 years. Krupat contacted "Expedition Unknown" archaeologist/treasure hunter/tv host Josh Gates with credible evidence he had discovered a hidden treasure. Josh Gates and crew followed Krupat as he meticulously went through and solved many clues left in paintings and verses of a book called "The Secret A Treasure Hunt" by Byron Preiss.
Byron wrote the book and had an illustrator create paintings also filled with clues to buried treasures.
Byron, who is now deceased, buried keys in a ceramic, left in a plexiglass case in various places around the U.S.
The keys can be turned into Byron's widow for a gem.
Krupat turned in the key and was awarded a peridot gemstone and a pin. Josh Gates, who had joked about glory and fortune, was awarded a golden shovel plaque for hosting this episode.
Jason Krupat had the opportunity to meet other prize winners, Byron's widow and kids, and the illustrator of the book, John Jude Palencar.
