#nationaldogday Happy doggy day (or everyday in my house) Our current #Dog Bella is a #bernesemountaindog and also the worlds biggest lap dog. Before Bella, was Tyson our #akita and one the smartest dogs I've ever met. I miss him every day. My first puppy Thor was a #maltese who loved artisanal beer. And I also included one dog, who was not mine, but was very special to me, Moose. Moose you were a jerk, but I loved you.

A slew of celebs are celebrating National Dog Day. The stars, including Kate Upton, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Paris Hilton, and Seth Rogen took to Instagram to show off pictures of their four-legged friends.

Upton had a video called "Ten Things I can do Better with My Dog  Harley."
Gellar wrote about many of her furry companions and let us know her current dog Bella is a Burnese Mountain Dog. Rogen posed alongside Zelda. Paris posted a pic of her holding her small dogs.

According to nationaldogday.com, the holiday falls on August 26. "National Dog Day celebrates all breeds, pure and mixed." The day calls attention to dogs who need to be rescued from shelters.
Also it honors family pets and dogs that save lives. They can keep us safe by helping the disabled, by detecting drugs, bombs, and pulling victims from wreckage.
