Arquette Speaks About Wage Inequality at U.N. Event

Patricia Arquette speaks out about wage inequality at a United Nations Women event. The actress made her speech Tuesday in New York.

According to the AP, Arquette said this is 2015 not 1915. She encouraged employers to pay based on merit.

Arquette spoke out about wage inequality at the Oscars during her acceptance speech for Best Supporting Actress for the film Boyhood. The movie took 12 years to make and is the fictional account of a young boy as he grows up.

Arquette commented, "to every women who gave birth to every taxpayer and citizen of this nation we have fought for everybody elses' equal rights, it's our time." Her speech caused Meryl Streep to stand up and cheer.
