Tabloid Paid $250,000 for Elevator Footage, Video Leaker Fired
A tabloid paid a former Standard Hotel employee $250,000 for elevator footage showing Beyonce's sister allegedly attacking Jay Z.
The hotel since fired the employee. According to the AP, the person was let go for
"breaching the security polices of the hotel and recording the confidential CCTV video."
The hotel announced the person's contract was terminated.
According to Just Jared, the video leaker may have talked about the options between staying in a low paying hourly job or selling a tape. The video was shopped around for five days to bring in the highest price.
There are reports a tabloid paid $250,000 for the scandalous tape.The former employee definitely had financial incentive to risk the job and sell the video.
